A prototype of this ring was discovered in Augsburg (Ernst Reiter Platz, Bavaria). It is one of the oldest rings of its kind, and its engraving is executed in a unique Gothic script, commonly found on medieval talismans and amulets. The ring bears only two names.

The first is "Tetragrammaton," representing the secret four-letter name of God. The second name is "Agla," a Kabbalistic notarikon (acronym) meaning "Lord, Thou art mighty forever."
