The Jupiter Ring is made of tin, as it is a well-known metal associated with Jupiter, or of silver, following the Kabbalistic tradition. On the outside, it is encrusted with either sapphire or amethyst, which in ancient lapidaries (books on the properties and nature of stones) are called the stones of Jupiter, bringing wisdom. The hieroglyphs of the planet are engraved inside, so that only the owner knows the true purpose of the ring, while for others, it remains an ordinary piece of jewelry.

In medieval French manuscripts about Jupiter symbols, it is said that they are engraved "to attract honors, wealth, and health, to discover precious metals, and to bring luck in both games of chance and games of skill":
pour les honneurs, les richesses, la santé, la decouverte des metaux precieux, pour rendre heureux au jeu de hazard et d’addresse
French manuscript
The appearance of these symbols varies from one manuscript to another, but they always follow a common pattern and can be found in numerous sources embracing different centuries from the Middle Ages to the Modern era.
